It’s that time of the year. That’s right; Rogue One tickets are on sale. It’s no secret that my love for Star Wars borders obsession (having stopped planning my wedding to purchase Force Awakens tickets). As a fan, you learn when the tickets go on sale; grab a pair for the first night before the masses shut down the internet and know the importance of spoiler blocks. Being a comic book nerd is not always easy. A new movie is released practically every month and at $13.50 a ticket (IMAX) it can be pretty costly. Still, these little breaks from reality do not necessarily need to break the bank.
There are several ways to save $$ and you don’t have to be a SUPER FAN to do it.
- EXTRA! EXTRA!: Most theaters have rewards programs and they offer anything from free popcorn to discount tickets. All you will need is an email address and you’re ready to go.
- COMING SOON: Check your local papers, sign up online or listen to the radio for details on free screenings in your area. These shows are first come first serve seating but if you get the passes, you get to see a movie before it’s released. Just remember SPOILERS ARE BAD!!
- LOCALS ONLY: Check in with your favorite theater for bargains. A theater here in Columbus has $5.00 Tuesdays, any movie/any screen all day long. These deals aren’t hard to find in your area and can make for a nice break during the week.
- BOGO: Christmas is just around the corner. Gift cards are a great way to plan and save. You can buy them in bulk to use as stocking stuffers or save them for a snow day.
Winter is coming and a night at the movies is a great way to stay warm, relax and enjoy some time away with family, friends, Fantastic Beasts, Trolls or the Rebel Alliance. May The Force Be With You.
